An Epic Poem of Remembrance

About the Book

Earthquakes and tsunamis are two of humanity’s greatest natural threats. The mightier they are the more deadly they are, and few were more deadly than the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. This unleashed massive waves of death and destruction that stole the lives of a quarter million people from 50 countries. One of the great stories of recovery, many who helped paid a personal price of exhaustion for their troubles. Author and poet Bill Nicol is one. He played a pivotal role at the blistering coalface of recovery only to be flung into burnout when it finished. Tsunami: A Poet’s Journey captures the poetry of his passion in a ten part poem that is his gift for the tsunami's 10th anniversary.
